Research Centre / Scion-DTU
A leading business park of international, national and regional importance.
At Scion-DTU the focus is on localisation for knowledge companies working within research and innovation. The park measures approximately 103 hectares and is home to some 70-80 companies involved primarily in biotech, medico, environmental technology and IT.

Scion-DTU enjoys close cooperation with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in nearby Lyngby. Scion-DTU is Denmark’s first and biggest university-based research park and enjoys landmark cooperation with both the university and the business sector.

Together with the Technical University of Denmark and the Danish Technological Institute, the Research Centre has established DTU Innovation A/S. The concept behind DTU Innovation is to ensure that relevant, advanced technological knowledge is applied commercially by making capital available to finance technology intensive ideas and projects in the start-up phase.

The area is enjoying continued growth and there are opportunities for new constructions of up to 100,000 square metres of floorage. The area is located in scenic surroundings with easy access to the main Helsingør motorway.

Erhvervsbyen Birkerød West
Erhvervsbyen is a mixed business quarter of about 56 hectares. Construction in the area commenced in 1966 with traditional industrial and craftsmen’s businesses, and expansion picked up pace in the 1970s. The eastern part of the area is dominated by large office buildings.

 Erhvervsbyen is at present undergoing further development to allow for increased localisation of office companies and light industry companies. With its proximity to Birkerød Station and town centre and its scenic setting in green surroundings, the park’s outer boundary in particular offers a highly attractive commercial location.

Nærum Erhvervsby
With approximately 13.5 hectares, Nærum Erhvervsby is the biggest business park in the southern part of the municipality. The park, which is almost fully developed, consists of properties established between the mid-1950s and the mid-1980s.

Nærum Erhvervsby business park hosts a mix of industries, with both public sector and private sector companies, light industry, workshops, and service and business activities. Brüel & Kjær, which develops solutions and products within sound and vibration, is in terms of size the biggest company in the area and has enjoyed a dominant position for many years. The area also houses Shell’s headquarters, as well as car dealers and an automobile museum.

The area enjoys a privileged location close to the retail areas centred on Nærumvænge Torv and the main shopping street Nærum Hovedgade. The area is conveniently sited adjacent to the Helsingør motorway and close to the local train line that connects to the town of Lyngby.
